Not everybody is in touch with the newest and latest technology, like laptops, notebooks, computers, voice-activated devices, wireless devices, cell phones, etc. That is why I am here to explain to you, what a laptop computer is.

Laptop computers first appeared around 1979. It was first manufactured by the Grid Systems Corporation, and the first laptop computer was used by the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) astronauts, in the space shuttle program in the early 1980's.

A laptop computer is a small version of a computer, which is an electronic device for storing and processing of information. A laptop computer and a computer is very different in size. The laptop computer comes in different sizes, but generally, people buy laptop computers that are able to fit in their laps so they can use the laptop computer without using a table or lying on the ground..

A laptop computer is small enough so that it can be carried around comfortably, and has two parts to it- the screen, and the base. It is connected together by a hinge/clutch, and can be folded up and together, so that when the owner carries it around, it does not carry two pieces, but one piece. The laptop computer can be opened or closed by flipping the screen up and down.

So laptops are not very old, but newer and fresher models are coming out from Gateway, and various other companies.

A laptop computer can be run in three main ways: battery powered, recharged, and plugged in. If at home, then plugging the laptop into the wall is the best way. If going on a short trip, i.e. to work, or bringing the laptop somewhere, i.e. for a short while, then recharging or batteries, depending on what kind of laptop computer you own. On some laptop computers, batteries last only fifteen minutes, and on others, they last for a long time, i.e. 100 hours and more. On some computers, recharging it only makes the laptop computer last fifteen minutes or less, but on others, they last almost forever.

On long trips, i.e. one day and more, and you want to bring your laptop computer, recharge, battery powered, and plugged in all work. Again, it may depend on what brand your laptop computer is, its age, and how it is usually cared for. Well cared laptop computers usually have better performance when compared to laptop computers which are harshly treated, e.g. left out in the rain, left out directly in the sun, stepped on, been taken apart, badly treated, dented, hit, food spilt on, etc.

There is another device called a Notebook It is similar to the laptop computer, but the notebook usually has an LCD board where you can write on with a magnetic pen that the notebook comes with.
