Doing A Laptop Hinge Repair

A laptop is made up of many tiny parts such as wires, pieces, and keys to make up a whole system that can function properly. Even if one little wire goes out of place or gets wet, the whole laptop may not be able to function properly, and will need to be either fixed or replaced, so we will need to treat laptops with great care and pay attention to where you are putting it, how you are putting the laptop down, etc.

Every single part of a laptop is important, but there is one thing that rises above them all, that people usually miss to be an important part of a laptop: the hinge of a laptop. If the hinge is not functioning, the laptop would not be called a laptop, because it is just two pieces of mechanical work, and a laptop hinge repair will be necessary.

The friction mechanism is known as (to the experts in this field), the "clutch", while the whole mechanism is known as (to everyone, including the experts), the hinge, which is the mechanism that lets you flip the screen of the laptop up and down, and anchors the screen to the base. As I've mentioned before, without the hinge, the laptop would not be called a laptop, because they would just be two pieces of mechanism.

Sometimes, when you are not careful, the hinge may break, and you will need to either do a laptop hinge repair or take it to an expert for that job. Here are some tips to prevent having to do a laptop hinge repair:

1. When moving the laptop, be careful to hold the base and not the screen. If possible, close the laptop when moving, that way it will be easier to move. Closing it will give a lower risk of you doing a laptop hinge repair!

2. When wiping the laptop, (this assumes that you DO wipe the laptop, to prevent laptop hinge repairs), under the screen and above the base where the empty space is, do not attempt to put your hand there to wipe; use something else (e.g. paper towel), and put that in the space instead of your hand, to prevent the base disconnecting with the screen, and you having to do a laptop hinge repair.

3. When setting the laptop down, set it down carefully; do not let go of it until the laptop is touching the table (or the spot you are placing the laptop on). If you here a sound when placing the laptop down, then you are not placing it correctly.

4. When you are packing the laptop up (for a holiday, moving, or other reasons), make sure it is not placed on the bottom, and no pressure is being put on it. This does not only affect the hinge, but the base and the screen too.
